Oscar Rodriguez was charged with killing the father of his girlfriend’s children in Coachella on Jan. 27, 2014. According to the prosecutor’s trial brief, the decedent, Carlos Luis Morin, had four warrants for his arrest due to felony drug possession, one for stealing a car, and two for misdemeanor charges of battery and driving with a suspended license. Rodriguez knew Morin, who was considered a gang member by the Riverside Sheriff’s Department.
